To Those Who Gave So Much…Never Forgotten

22 Sep

“Greater love has no one than this- that he would lay down his life for his friends.” John 15:13

Without our veterans, we wouldn’t be speaking English, we wouldn’t have our freedom and we wouldn’t be the United States of America.  Veterans made us the “Land of the Free” because of their selfless acts of things like fortitude, dedication and bravery to keep us safe.

Whether for the love of their country, love of family and friends, or the determination to fight for what is good, all veterans and military personnel deserve the utmost respect and appreciation.

These men and women put their lives on the line, not just with thoughts of their family and friends but mostly for people, like all of us, they will never meet, to protect life as we know it and the dreams of the future.  They have given their time away from their families, suffered hunger and loss, pain and mental/physical deterioration.

For so many men and women who fought for our country, their ultimate sacrifice, was their lives, for our freedom.   Thank you will never be enough, to the countless military personnel, past and present who protect us.  Without their commitment and perseverance, we would not know our freedom as we do today.  Our military has made us the major promoters of fairness, justice, happiness and equality throughout the world.  Many people think the military only handles defending our country, our rights and freedoms.  However, their generous service goes above and beyond the battlefields as they also contribute their time providing relief to those in need right here at home as well.  Now, it’s our turn to show them how valued they are to us and show them they will never be forgotten.

Please help us at Cards for Our Vets, by writing letters or decorating some cards or pictures to our veterans to let them know you are thinking about them.  Even just a few lines of thoughtfulness would be so appreciated and loved by our veterans at Coatesville Medical Center.  Attached is a list of all the upcoming collection dates.  Or you can get the information on our website: LifeofPretty.com/cardsforvets.

The smallest gesture can truly mean the most.

“There is no better way to thank God for your sight than by giving a helping hand to someone in the dark. The unselfish effort to bring cheer to others will be the beginning of a happier life for ourselves. Believe, when you are most unhappy, that there is something for you to do in the world”.

Helen Keller

With that in mind, any contributions of cards, drawings or letters for our next collection and visit to Coatesville Veterans Hospital would mean so much to so many men and women.  Our veterans need to know how much they mean and how thankful we are to them for keeping America safe.
